Terrapin Trials Episode 1: Not In Hogwarts

Ready to start the game

The 16 contestants gather to start a battle to be sole survivor. Holli is excited, whereas Terry is nervous as he's unconnected. Before the tribes are even picked, everyone gives an introduction. Harry goes first and reveals that he wrestled the Boston bomber, which gains quite a reaction. Eric reveals he's a football player, making him one of the stronger players. Katie and Sabrina are already attracting attention for being an obvious pair.

Austin asks for two leaders, which will be the first two to sit down. Harry sits down first, followed by Sierra, after Foluke hesitates. The two leaders get an immunity necklace for the first vote and also head up the pick'em. The tribes are picked, with Sabrina left "butthurt" at being left unchosen. Harry tries to pump up his tribe, thinking they're gonna dominate, but Matt finds him annoying already. Sierra's tribe are the more strategic group, and pick Hukatana as their name. Austin then reveals that the two leaders are switching tribes. Whoa, brilliant shake-up!

The leaders get to take one person with them to even out the gender divide. Harry takes his top pick Katie. Foluke tries to dissuade Sierra from taking a strong guy, but ends up choosing Eric. Katie makes a bad first impression with Victoria when she says she's not gonna bother to learn their names. Now we're left with tribes of:

RAFIKI - Sierra, Eric, Alex, Maria, Kanay, Marissa, Matt, Sabrina
HUKATANA - Harry, Katie, Holli, Zack, Foluke, Terry, Victoria, Charlie

The first challenge is to grab a ring from a muddy course and bring it back to their side. Terry takes on Eric in the first round, and Eric scores for Rafiki. The next matchup is Foluke vs Marissa, and Foluke evens it up. Alex and Maria beat Charlie and Zack to give Rafiki a lead. Sierra and Sabrina then beat Terry and Holli to make it 3-1. Kanay and Matt extend Rafiki's lead by overpowering Victoria and Katie. Marissa and Eric then beat Harry and Foluke, but Maria causes quite a scene when she yells for her team to go for Foluke's hair.

Charlie and Maria battle for the decisive point

Sabrina beats Holli to get another point for Rafiki, meaning they only need 1 more. Maria then takes on Charlie and Maria gets the winning point when Charlie misses the ring completely. Rafiki have immunity in a decisive win, and Harry has to try and pick his team up.

Charlie feels he let the team down and looked weak, but forms his first alliance with Terry. But Terry talks to Zack and sees a lot of people are wanting Charlie out, so he might not have a choice. Harry forms an alliance with Holli, Katie, Zack and Terry, which he is hoping will be the core 5 of the tribe. Foluke and Victoria have their own alliance with Zack though, and are hoping to pull in Terry after the vote.

Charlie doesn't like Foluke, but feels it makes more sense to target Katie since she's part of a tight threesome with Harry and Holli. After thinking about it, Foluke wants to make that move too, since she doesn't trust Katie at all. Zack tries to convince them they don't want to make Harry mad this early, but really he just wants to keep both of his alliances intact.

At tribal council, Harry is happy with his new team and now Katie is as well. Foluke thinks she proved she's an asset since she scored their only point. She then hijacks Zack's question to praise Harry's energy and call Holli a ball of light.

The votes come back and an eloquent-speaking Charlie leaves 7-1. In his final words, he maintains he's smarter than his whole tribe, but that didn't seem to save him. Now that the easy vote on Hukatana is gone, it's gonna get interesting.
