Guts And Glory Episode 12: Soldier's Creed

Breathing easy at last
There's two very different sets of reactions after the rock draw. Matt, Mollie and Katie are jubilantly celebrating that they're set for final 3. Micah and Evan are completely dejected, writing their own obituaries and talking about how they don't want to vote for any of them to win. Shannon urges them to stay positive, and points out that they've made comebacks against the odds before. Alex wants Evan out for rejecting the olive branch he tried to give him and is hoping he comes crawling back to him so he can tell him to go fuck himself.

The hunt is on
The immunity challenge is to count various objects and use the answers to open a combination lock. Austin also reveals there's an idol somewhere on the course - just when they thought they were done with that crap! Matt makes his way around the course the fastest. Evan looks for the idol, whereas his buddies Micah and Shannon try for numbers instead. Shannon goes for the locks first, but doesn't get it. More people start guessing and are also wrong. Matt comes close and gets two locks off, but stumbles on the final one. Shannon manages it though, and wins immunity again.

Micah thinks Katie found the idol, but she thinks the same of him. Evan talks to Alex to try and figure out his deals, but Alex is digging for info too. He tells Evan their side has the idol just to see his reaction, and deduces that he doesn't have it. Evan makes a promise to Alex that if he gets rid of Micah and Shannon before him, he'd go to the final 3 with him and Katie.

Evan and Micah decide to make a pitch to Mollie as well, trying to convince her they don't want to work with Shannon anymore since she's a threat, and that they'd rather go to the final 3 with her. To sweeten the deal, Evan promises to give her his jury vote if she votes out Alex with them. Mollie tells Katie what they said, and she doesn't buy it at all.

At tribal council, Katie admits that she was psyched to see the rock draw work out in their favour, since they'd had a lot of bad breaks. Evan says he knows he's on death row, but asks everyone to evaluate their place in the group, because he's gonna vote for Alex if he gets to the end. Evan accuses Katie of playing for 2nd place, whilst Alex reacts calmly to the onslaught, saying that people should just vote the way they think is best. Evan even throws out that he's willing to cut Shannon, but they all see through it. Micah takes his shirt off during his appeal - well, that's one way to campaign, I guess.

After the vote, the four stick together and send Evan home. Evan congratulates Alex on his way out. I'm sure he'll be remembered as one of the standout strategic players of this season, but he will not be our winner. We've got 2 episodes left before we find out who is.
