Alex feels that being called out as the biggest threat has put a target on him, and points out how he still has to navigate at least 3 tribals before he can think about that. Katie is pissed that they don't think she can win, as she feels she's done a good job of building social connections. Mollie wonders if Alex going next might actually be a good move, since he's proven he can win challenges. Alex even tells Katie he can see the logic in Mollie switching.

For the immunity challenge, the contestants have to answer questions about the game so far and then use a sponge to fill up a bucket. For every question they get wrong, they have to do a lap, costing them valuable time. The first person to fill up their bucket wins. They get started and Mollie is immediately winded. But when everyone but her gets the first question wrong, she's actually able to take a lead. Alex, Shannon and Matt keep hitting wrong answers - Matt even getting a question wrong about Mikey despite being the only one on a tribe with him. Alex overtakes Mollie, but she's still in with a shot if Alex gets some wrong. A correct answer on the last question seals the deal though, and he wins immunity.
Alex being immune was not Mollie's ideal scenario, but she's not overly devastated since they still have two others lined up that need to go. Alex tells Katie that Shannon has been trying to sway him, but it sounds like he's staying solid. Shannon knows she's going home, and is upset she got a challenge she was terrible at. Mollie, Katie and Matt agree that Shannon is the bigger threat, but wonder if Micah would play an idol on her if he had one.

At tribal council, Micah and Shannon have a tribute to Evan on their chests. Matt is asked what would happen if the last remaining Sohcahtrio member won immunity, and he says he hasn't thought about it. Micah tries to get through to Alex that they'll come after him eventually. Alex admits he's not totally secure in the four, but says he won't make moves out of fear. Katie gets into an argument with Micah and Shannon when they say nobody on their side other than Alex has done anything. Alex sings some Bob Marley to break the tension.
Shannon tries to fake them out with an idol, but she obviously doesn't have one. Mollie sees two new cool spellings of her name written down, but it's Shannon's time to go, and she starts cheering for Micah right after leaving. So Micah is on his own now, but he's not the only one that's going to have a hard path to the win. Whether it's fighting to get to the end, or fighting to prove themselves worthy, everybody has work to do.
Great recap as always. One thing I'll point out, in defense of Mollie, is that she had an actual back issue, wasn't just winded hahaha. It was briefly referenced in the last episode and explained in the recent batch of bonus scenes if you're curious. No big deal, just thought I'd note that :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'd actually forgotten that. Fair point, thanks for clarifying.
